How HIPAA Impacts Wellness Program Strategy

In this session, you’ll be shown different pathways for designing HIPAA-compliant wellness programs after health reform.  Although effective wellness programs can be developed within (or despite) the constraints of HIPAA’s health status nondiscrimination rules, HIPAA presents additional challenges with its more recent genetic nondiscrimination requirements.  Not to be overlooked are the implications of the HIPAA Privacy and Security rules for many wellness programs whose administrators access, use or transmit protected health information.  We will wrap up HIPAA issues with the added complications of the HITECH Act and security breach notification rules as they affect wellness programs.  Be sure to take in this HIPAA update to get your questions answered and gain valuable insights for effective wellness program design.
