Smart Beverage Toolkit: Strategies to Reduce Consumption of Unhealthy Beverages in the Workplace
Sweetened beverages such as soda, sports drinks, and energy drinks are the largest single source of sugars in the U.S. Diet. Drinking just one soda a day can lead to gaining up to ten extra pounds a year. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has developed a toolkit for worksites to reduce consumption of sweetened beverages. The Smart Beverage Toolkit includes an assessment tool for beverage choices available in the workplace, guidance for creating an environment that supports healthier beverage choices, an employee challenge program, and educational materials. This session will demonstrate how to implement the Smart Beverage Toolkit in a variety of workplace settings.
